Duetto bed by Centro Ricerche Flou
Its versatility is extraordinary; the bed lies halfway
between a dormouse/daybed, a sofa and a bed. The daybed version is a
comfortable sofa that can rapidly transform into an equally comfortable bed,
with an oprional spare bed stored tidily underneath. When pulled-out and
raised, it can be anchored to the first one to produce a practical double-size
bed. The BOOK Transformable beds – catalogue illustrates Duetto.

Trees and Rocks table by Martin Azua
Barcelona designer Martin Azua has created a table that
plays on the contrast in properties between wood and stone. The Trees and Rocks
table features central discs of Venato Carrara marble set into a main frame of
Spanish walnut, but future versions may feature different combinations of
material. “I wanted to make a table with two fine materials that are very
attractive in themselves and don’t need any kind of ornamentation because their
surface are always different and full of information,” said Azua. “The wood is
warm and soft and the marble is cold and tough.”

Botanic Kitchen Restaurant Concept by Kiwi & Pom, UK
Kiwi & Pom were appointed to develop a restaurant
concept that would consolidate and refurbish existing restaurants for a
garden-focused retailer. The scope of the project was to propose a brand name,
create a brand identity, develop graphics and handle art direction, in addition
to the interior design. At the heart of the design solution was a desire to
create a fresh, light and airy restaurant space that blurred the boundaries
between indoor and out. In direct response to the client’s original brief, Kiwi
& Pom set a mandate to ‘never be less than one meter away from a plant’.
This was achieved by positioning plants in considered locations at every
opportunity, which included hanging baskets, space dividing screens, floor
standing planters and table top pots.

Plus Concrete Modular Storage Solution by Lyon Beton for Gessato
Named for its home
in France, design group Lyon Beeton embodies a traditional European aesthetic
married with modern sensibilities. The latest addition to their impressive line
of furniture is PLUS, a clear and concise concrete collection that allows for
optimal adaptability. Conceived by Bertrand Jaye, Plus 1, 2, and 4 promise to
“Fit in Your Ideas” through three distinct pieces: a single storage cube (1)
that doubles as a seat, a larger bench (2), and an accent “table” (4). However,
those labels are relative; each modular unit plays infinite roles – from shelf,
bookcase, or room divider to coffee table, nightstand, or corner cabinet.
