The Acco
tables are characterized by their unique wooden base, which is entirely made of
walnut wood. The solid slats are slightly twisted towards their ends and are
held together by a bottom and a top ring. That makes the base surprisingly
strong and sturdy. The project is inspired by a wet folding meter stick, which
was forgotten outdoors – overnight, and showed the next day bended ends.
Generating a related pattern to the meter stick, the table legs are an expanded
circular version of it, similar to how an accordion is working.
The cnc
milled parts just need to be sticked together at the end, so that there is an
balacing tension between the single legs. Even though the base has a very light
appearance it turned out to be strong enough for dining tables with a solid
wooden top. To highlight the base of the table there is also an elegant glass
top for a transparent view on it. The whole family consists of a range of
One based
and double based dining tables and smaller side table versions, with different
heights.
