Acco Tables by Florian Schmid for Miniforms

The Acco tables are characterized by their unique wooden base, which is entirely made of walnut wood. The solid slats are slightly twisted towards their ends and are held together by a bottom and a top ring. That makes the base surprisingly strong and sturdy. The project is inspired by a wet folding meter stick, which was forgotten outdoors – overnight, and showed the next day bended ends. Generating a related pattern to the meter stick, the table legs are an expanded circular version of it, similar to how an accordion is working.

This project challenges our conventional perspective on furniture, offering an almost sci-phi looking alternative to it that brings together advanced technologies and contemporary aesthetics of minimalism. The furniture line of the Latvian designer Roland Lands-bergs includes pieces developed for bedrooms, living rooms and kitchens, with a diverse and versatile range of futuristic looking compartments.

How to get rid of walls stains made by crayon, markers and Blue-Tack


In a home with young children, it’s inevitable that your walls will become convenient canvases for these budding artists.

“Common marks can be easily cleaned by wiping with a soft sponge and a little soap solution, says Sari Cheong of Deluxe. You can also try removing crayon and marker stains with baking soda. Sprinkle the powder on a damp cloth, and scrub hard at the stain. Some also swear by toothpaste, which, like baking powder, acts as an abrasive to scrub out the stain. If the marks are on a colored wall, carry out a patch test on an inconspicuous corner to make sure your chosen method doesn’t remove paint color as well.

"How much will it cost to renovate my house?" This is a common question, especially for new homeowners or those undergoing first-time renovations. It definitely makes sense to know how much the various works can cost, so you can plan according to your budget. We speak with Kelvin Toe of Space Sense, and William Chan of Spaced Designs to get a rough estimate of how much you can expect to fork out for basic renovation works in Singapore. Hacking of a single wall in a HDB flat or apartment costs between $400 and $900, depending on the length, thickness and the area to be removed.

This Home Was Inspired by the Design of a Spaceship – and It Looks Great!

You can say the Force is strong in this home, for the owner was inspired by the Star Wars movies he loves! The fan hired Aidan Harwilll of Auden T to transform his five-room HDB flat into a space pod with a futuristic vibe. There was also the challenge of making space to house a Star Wars figurine collection that has grown to astronomical proportions since the owner started his collection in the mid-eighties.
